Trampskirts (Lauren Gilbert)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2008?

  1. Complete Failure - Perversions of Guilt
  2. Mr. Gnome - Deliver this Creature
  3. Baby Guts - Gasoline
  4. Jordan Caress - Real Quiet
  5. Admiral's Club - Blackout Sunday

What band did you discover in 2008 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

Zoroaster would probably be the band I am most in awe of right now! We played with them in Dallas, Texas and they blew me away. Their live show is awesome. Their whole effect was brilliant. Juicifer's music is awesome as well and I have yet to see them live but I have been really into their tracks on Myspace.

How will you remember 2008? (In terms of music)

Zoroaster, Juicifer, Baby Guts, The Moaners

Vinyl record sales saw a significant increase this year while hard copy sales continued to dwindle. Is this a return to the glory days for vinyl or just a phase? Explain.

Vinyl is coming back hardcore. People realize now that in terms of true sound quality there is no contest. It's a real treat to listen to albums on vinyl and I think it will be vinyl and downloads in the future. CD's are being phased out.

What was the most memorable moment for you in 2008? (Can be in terms of anything)

Probably our tour we just finished. It was a lot of fun. I got to see a lot of cool bands, met some awesome people, and ate a lot of Ramen. I haven't been anywhere so to get free travel and to rock out everyday was awesome.

What can we look forward to from you in 2009?

A new album that we are really excited about and several tours we are planning for the upcoming year. We are just getting started. There's still so much rock to lay down.

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2009?

The Moaners new release which should come out next year will be one I will buy for sure.. The tracks I have heard from it are amazing. They are going in a really different direction but it's something I can get into. Six Gun Lullaby are good friends of ours and should finish and release their album early next year as well. From what I have heard it's going to be really incredible stuff and the tracks they are playing live are fantastic. I mostly just keep my ears open and hope something gets me excited.
