Deathwish Inc.

(Nicole Hollis-Vitale)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2009? (In order 1-5)

  1. Dan Auerbach - Dan Auerbach

  2. The Dream - Love Vs. Money

  3. The Drums - The Drums

  4. Clipse - Kinda Like A Big Deal

  5. Shrinebuilder - Shrinebuilder

What band did you discover in 2009 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

There are a few bands I discovered this year that I love - I wouldn't say any of them are changing my life, but they are: Harvey Milk, Little Joy, Good Old War, Samiam, Tiny Vipers, Frank Turner, Mother of Mercy. There are probably more but those are some bands that put out records that are awesome - new and old and am glad I added them to my iTunes collection.

How will you remember 2009? (In terms of music)

It was the year Deathwish Inc. put out a million releases and that I bought a ton of music off Emusic and learned about a lot of great bands. Have Heart broke up and their last show was so much fun. I just feel like everyone awesome put out a record this year - but I'll probably say the same thing next year and probably said that in 08 too - All of the fests that happen in a year rule and SXSW is always a blast!

2009 was a huge year for reunions. What reunion excited you the most? What band that has not reunited would you love to see play/record most in 2010?

To be quite honest, I don't care for or about reunions. I don't know if I saw any reunited bands and if I did I didn't care much. I understand that they are exciting for some people but if I've lived twenty-seven years of life without seeing a band, my life won't be changed if I do see them. You never know if it's going to be good or bad and everyone always looks older than they should and while some reunions I'm sure are awesome, I don't really pay any mind to them.

What can we look forward to from you in 2010?

From me personally, more awesomeness! From Deathwish - another year full of releases from such bands as: Integrity, Rot In Hell, The Carrier, New Lows, End Of A Year, Acid Tiger, United Nations and more... that's just the beginning

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2010?

Hmmm.... besides the DW releases, - Mother of Mercy, Ceremony, Beach House, Erykah Badu and I'm sure there is more that I don't even know about.
