What are your top five albums that were released in 2009? (In order 1-5)

  1. Mew - No More Stories Told Today?

  2. Pissed Jeans - King of Jeans

  3. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

  4. Passion Pit - Manners

  5. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

What band did you discover in 2009 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

I don't think much was really "discovered" in 2009 but I'd say I really threw myself into a lot of hip-hop and soul/neo-soul this year. Styles that always really grabbed me but really pulled me in this year.

How will you remember 2009? (In terms of music)

It was solid year of music. Most of the records I picked up this year were overall good. I'm in love with the "emo" revival going on right now.

2009 was a huge year for reunions. What reunion excited you the most? What band that has not reunited would you love to see play/record most in 2010?

I'd have to say the reunions that excited me most this year were The Ghost, Jawbox and Sunny Day Real Estate. Get Up Kids put on a good show this year as well. In 2010 I'd like to see Fugazi or Braid reunite and play some shows. Colossal coming off of hiatus and writing a new record would be pretty great too.

What can we look forward to from you in 2010?

2010 will be filled with a bunch of new and interesting releases from Big Scary Monsters. In both the US and the UK. I will be spending a bunch more time out on tour this year as well. Should be a great year.

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2010?

I'm looking forward to new material from Young Widows, Tera Melos and I'm extremely excited for the new Daughters record. I was lucky enough to be able to listen through a few times already. All I have to say is; WOW.
