Alix (Daydream)

SPB: What do you remember of playing your first show?

Alix: My first show ever was when I was 13 years old. My two younger brothers and I formed a cover band with a friend and we called it FEENIX. We played a benefit party at a church that we all grew up going to (against our will lol). We played some Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rolling Stones covers from what I can remember. My first show playing in a band that wrote our own songs was when I was about 15 or so, one of my brothers was in it too and we were called FALSE CREDIT. We did one of those pay to play-type huge shows at the Congress Theater in Chicago.

Dirt Cult (2020)

It’s refreshing when a band is hard to describe. As a review writer it’s certainly a challenge but sometimes it feels a little too easy to slap a hyphenated label on a record to describe the sound. Daydream’s second album, Mystic Operative, isn’t reinventing rock ‘n’ roll, but it’s also not so easy to pin down to a single scene … Read more
