Mike (DeeCRACKS)

SPB: What show, outside of Austria, have you been most excited to play (either because of the city, the venue, or the rest of the lineup)?

Mike: Tough question actually. We've done a lot of touring in our 20 years as a band and basically every adventure we were and still are excited for. The first proper tour we did outside of Austria was a two-week leg in France in early 2007. We were super excited to do that and play especially Paris, but also Lyon, Toulouse, Bordeaux and so on for the first time. Surprisingly Paris was the worst show of that tour back then, haha. Once we got used to European touring we were super excited for every first touring experiences in more exotic countries like USA, Canada, Japan, Russia, Mexico and Israel, all these places not many bands from here go.

Obviously we were pretty hyped for all the shows supporting some our favorite bands like Bad Religion, NOFX, Descendents, CJ Ramone, Radio Birdman, The Hanson Brothers, Chixdiggit!, the Methadones, the Dictators and so on. We’re forever grateful for these opportunities.

With the festivals we played such as The Fest, Pouzza Fest, Brakrock, Rebellion Fest, Ottawa Explosion or our most favorite Punk Rock Raduno, we were not only excited for the bands there, but also immensely because of the friends we were about to see and make there. To be honest, most of the excitement revolves around the people we’re going to meet and the good times we’re about to have. So, let’s go! We’re always ready for more exciting times!

Serious Issues
Pirates Press (2021)

DeeCracks is not exactly new to the punkrock scene. Starting out as The Cretins in 2003, rebranding themselves to DeeCRACKS in 2007 this Austrian trio has some experience under their belts. Serious Issues is their fourth full length album. Next to that they have released a string of splits and EP’s. So I am surprised that Serious Issues is the … Read more

Sonic Delusions
Pirates Press (2018)

DeeCracks don’t reinvent anything, but they don’t regurgitate it either. There’s a lot of Ramones behind the experienced Austrian band, but they utilize familiar techniques like harmonies, solos, and even a surf instrumental to mix it up. It’s the kind of music that many bands try to pull off, but fail. It doesn’t sound like they’re aping their predecessors, but … Read more
