The Path
The Path

Jon (The Path – vocals)

SPB: Who does the majority of the band’s driving while on tour? (Any related stories about why?)

Jon: I do vocals in The Path and I do the vast majority of driving when we head out of Vermont.

When I first read the question it seemed like it would be difficult to give more of an answer than that. After thinking about it, there are more reasons than I realized. I happened to have a car in better condition than the rest of the band when we started playing out of state. It was the easy choice. I’ve realized that I also really don’t care to be a passenger in a vehicle. I have a short attention span which has made punk a wonderful home but doesn’t serve me well on long car rides. If I’m driving, listening to music, conversing, while also being able to constantly change the temperature and fan power I can be in a car for 12 hours without issue. Otherwise I will probably just go to sleep because reading in cars makes me vomit.

The future might change though because I think Matt’s car is in better shape and it’s definitely larger. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there.
