Plutocracy Planet gives us the news

Posted in Bands on February 27, 2024

A new "sociopolitical super-collective" called Plutocracy Planet shared their debut single this week, as well as the release date for their full debut. The experimental project was initiated by former Alarm Magazine editor Scott Morrow, and spans across genres while utilizing electronics, polyrhythms, atypical time signatures, and unique instrumentation -- all unified with a post-hardcore framework.

Members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, American Football, Protest the Hero, The Get-Up Kids, The Callous Daoboys, Far, Secret Chiefs 3, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Yakuza, and more contribute to the record. On the lead single, "This Very Severity," that includes Bob Nanna (Braid, Hey Mercedes, The City on Film), guitarist Jason Schimmel (Red Fiction, Estradasphere, Secret Chiefs 3) ,and bassist Jonathan Hischke (The Sound of Animals Fighting, Le Butcherettes, Hella, Anywhere).

The self-titled record comes out on July 12.
