Devo plans cat party for album stream

Posted by Jon E. on June 15, 2010

Devo is trying something vastly different. To promote their new LP Something For Everybody They are having a cat party.

Today from 11am to 8pm, the band will host a live broadcast of the audio from their album and video of 20 cats for 9 hours. The broadcast starts at 11am PST (2pm EST) and you can find it via UStream. The band took an unusual route for the track list of the album, by launching an Official Song Study. The band posted portions of each of the tracks they recorded for the album and asked fans to rank and vote about which songs would appear on the final full length. Of the sixteen songs shown in this way, fans and study participants selected the 12 that will appear on the album itself.
