Post-hardcore band Spark of Life just shared the new single "No One Hates Me More Than Me" today, an early glimpse into the band's upcoming new full-length next year. Listen to the single below, which will be included on Plagued By The Human condition,
"This song, much like the record, is about loss, regret and the pain it inevitably causes in its wake. But it is also about finding hope in that loss and coming out the other side with a positive and grateful perspective," vocalist Steve Jennings says of the new song and the new record too.
The southern California based band released Promises Made Promises Kept in 2003 (Lorelei Records) and pressed pause due to shifting life priorities. Members played in Last of The Believers for a period, before rekindling Spark of Life in 2018. They recruited Fred Armisen to play drums on the Song of Hope EP (2023), and now the band is back with a full-length. The lineup on the upcoming Plagued By The Human Condition features founders Jennings and guitarist Nicholas Piscitello, plus second guitar player Steve Sain, bass player Chris Sprat, and Anthony Piscitello back on drums -- though Armisen makes a guest contribution on a cover of That Dog's "Never Say Never."
The album will release on New Age Records in "early 2025."
