Common Wounds, featuring members and former members of Run with the Hunted and Landmine Marathon, has announced their debut EP, a self-titled short-play record coming out March 10 on Protagonist Music.
The Phoenix, AZ based band formed in the wake of Dead History, with guitarist/vocalist Ian Lanspeary and bassist Matt Martinez carrying the torch forward.
"Dead History was formed in early 2016 by myself and Ian. We formed the band as both of our previous bands had wound down after exhausting and fulfilling lifespans. We found ourselves coming into sounds that were rooted in post-hardcore and early emotional hardcore... filtered through the ultra low tunings that my instruments were already set up for," Martinez says.
The band plays post-hardcore with noise rock stylings, drawing from dynamic influences ranging from Dischord to Touch and Go.
In addition to Lanspeary and Martinez, the band includes guitarist Corey Rial (Seas Will Rise) and drummer Steven Campbell (War Tongue, Bog Oak).
