Satan's Rats becomes Satan's Cats

Satan's Rats is back, revised with a new singer and new name. The 1970s punk band has revived activity with a new vocalist, Puss Johnson (of Pussycat and the Dirty Johnsons).

The band will release a self-titled EP under a new moniker, Satan's Cats, on Nov. 4 with the new lineup. It features five songs in total, including four revisions of older tracks and a cover of "The Rocker," originally by Thin Lizzy. The rest of the lineup features founding member Steve Eagles (guitarist), Olly Harrison (drummer), and Dave Sparrow (bassist).

The band initially formed in 1977, dissolved in 1978, then rebranded and The Photos with vocalist Wendy Wu in 1980, who released an album with Epic Records. The band designed to reform and reshape during pandemic-related shutdowns.

Puss Johnson's Pussycat the the Dirty Johnsons has four albums, their most recent released in 2020.
