Hopelessly Devoted To You: 30 Anniversary
Hopelessly Devoted To You: 30 Anniversary

Founded in 1993, Hopeless Records has announced a 30th anniversary compilation which sees the label's current roster covering classics from the label's deep catalog.

The label shares a portion of the tracklisting now, with The Wonder Years covering Thrice, Bayside covering The Weakerthans, Sincere Engineer covering 88 Fingers Louie, and more.

The Wonder Years, in a press release, share some insight:

I think we are the longest tenured Hopeless Records artist of all time. It was the label that took a shot on us when everyone else passed. The label that changed our lives. We are deeply ingrained in the company’s history, and so when I say Happy 30th Birthday, it’s not just because I’m proud of them, it’s because I’m proud of us. All of us. We built some amazing, lasting things together, as a team. Because of that, I don’t think you could have a 30th Anniversary comp without The Wonder Years and we’re very excited we got to do the legendary Thrice track, “Deadbolt.” Recording it pushed us to places we don’t always go as a band, and it was both a blast and an honour.

Cheap Grills
Hopeless (2023)

You know those bands whose music you enjoy, but each record sort of sounds the same, just a little fresher? Well, Cheap Grills is the third LP from Sincere Engineer and it continues exactly as you’d expect from the Deanna Belos led band. The first five seconds of the album feature the lyric, “I’m a walking open wound,” in her … Read more

Bless My Psyche
Hopeless (2021)

Sincere Engineer, fronted by Deanna Belos, runs the emotional gamut with angry highs and desperate lows – often both within the same song. I kind of think of it as a female take on ‘90s emo: the songs are personal and introspective, searching for help through the downtimes. A difference being that most ‘90s emo was seeking validation while this … Read more

Beggars
Vagrant (2009)

The release of Thrice's latest album, Beggars came as a big surprise to a lot of fans for a couple reasons. One reason is because the band released the last two volumes of The Alchemy Index only last year and they were quick to the studio to record it's follow-up. The other reason is how quickly it leaked onto the … Read more
