The Carvels NYC might not be enjoying the fact that playing live in 2020 was not possible. However, you will not hear any complaints from my side when it means they are this productive. Earlier this year they made the best of the situation releasing their debut full-length. And now they release a Christmas song that is not as cheesy as the usual christmas music.
The whole pandemic has proven to be inspirational for the band. On their album a couple of songs are dedicated to the subject and now there's "Christmas (Stuck At Home)". Although I do enjoy this tune I hope this is the kind of song we look back at thinking: yeah, that was then, remember how weird it was? Musicwise this is schoolbook The Carvels NYC, although with a slightly different production value. This is a homerecording and although it sounds pretty good you can hear it is not the same level as the full-length or the EPs that preceded it. If you, like me, can't stand Christmas music, this might be one for you. All I want for Christmas is songs like this!
