Twitter heroes Eve 6 have released a new split for their single "Good For You," with new lyrics and melodies provided by Virginity.
Max Collins of Eve 6 shares the unusual background leading to the split:
This collaboration was born of a mundane distributor error when Eve6 accidentally released an instrumental version of one of the songs from our newish EP ‘Grim Value.’ We put on twitter that if anyone tracked their own lyric and melody to the song, and it was good, that we’d release it as a split. The result was Virginity vastly improving upon the original.
With additional context from longtime fan and Virginity member Casey Crawford:
Eve6 has legit been one of my favorite bands since I was 12. They are one of those formative bands for me in a big way and I celebrate their entire catalog. To have had this insane internet interaction that turned into us doing a song with them is truly a dream come true for me and it honestly makes me feel like we’re in a fuckin’ simulation. I mean, this is the coolest shit ever.
Both Eve 6 and Virginity play at The Fest 19 this coming weekend. Virginity recently released Popmortem (Smartpunk Records).
