Today Scene Point Blank is excited to share "Still Sour / Makin’ Ennui” a brand new track from All Becomes Indistinct by math-rock duo Terms, out April 21. Plus, get a bonus track afterward: "Teetering Scree."
Hyphenated genre labels never hit the nail on the head, but the band plays tight, experimental, guitar-driven rock that keeps you on your toes. Speaking specifically of this song, guitarist Chris Trull explains:
This was one of the last tracks we completed for this record and we knew immediately that it had to be the first song on the new album. the "Still Sour" portion (the first 27 seconds of the track) is a direct continuation of the final song from our previous album ("If I Become Sour..." from Asbestos Mouth), so our new album literally picks up where we left off. "Makin' Ennui" is a very fun song to play and always goes over well when we play it live -- especially the apocalyptic ending section! The title comes from a misread album title that I found amusing. I'm often inspired by misheard or misread phrases!
All Becomes Indistinct is Terms' second album, made with a lineup of Trull (ex-Yowie/Grand Ulena) plus Danny Piechocki (Ahleuchatistas). It releases on vinyl and cd via SKiN GRAFT Records.
