At a press conference in Chinatown, London, the four members of Britpop pioneers Blur announced details of their first album in 12 years, called The Magic Whip. The original inception of the album occured when the band were in Hong Kong in Spring 2013 after some of their gigs there were cancelled, it was then that they decided to go into the studio.
The 12 track album is due to be released on April 28, and follows the recent news that they will be headling British Summer Time Hyde Park on June 20. The last recording released by Blur was their 2012 stand alone single Under The Westway/The Puritan, while their last album was 2003's Think Tank.
