On April 23, Sacred Bones Records will release Mutator, a lost record from industrial icon the late Alan Vega.
Speaking specifically of the lead single "Fist" (embed below), Vega's frequent collaborator and partner Liz Lamere states, “Fist’s relentless forward movement of the music coupled with Vega's battle cry lyrics makes it a powerful call for action to the people to muster their power, come together and Make One Nation. The message is timely, the impact timeless.”
Vega, who passed away in 2016, is known for a wide breadth of experimental music, including work with the group Suicide. Sacred Bones is working with Lamere and Vega's close friend Jared Artaud to release a series of items from The Alan Vega Vault Projecgt.
The material on Mutator was recorded with Lamere in 1995-1996.
