Killer Hearts - Skintight Electric

This month's featured stream comes from the Bayou City, TX rough 'n' tumble rock band, Killer Hearts.

Skintight Electric is their debut, on Spaghetty Town Records, and it brings 10 songs of middle finger energy, to paraphrase the press sheet. It brings classic, swagger-laden dirty rock with a protopunk sensibility.

There are six new songs, and four more that previously appeared on singles and EPs.

"We really piled on the bells-and-whistles, the extra instrumentation – piano, tambourine, shakers, female vocals, handclaps, everything we could think of,” says guitarist Brandon enthuses. “If we're gonna do a full-length, we should make it the best we can. It took us awhile.”

Barger also plays with Night Cobra and previously played with The Wrong Ones. Bassist and co-founder Gil Lira has played with The Cops, The Guillotines and Reagan Era Rejects, and drummer Corey Parker plays with Liberty and Justice.

First slated for release last summer, Skintight Electric makes its debut now on vinyl, with Dragstrip Riot Records handling the European release. Official release date is this Friday, Sept. 24, so enjoy it a few days early and circle back to find it featured on our home page 'til the end of the month.
