Formed in Washington, DC in 2002 and Christina Billotte (Slant 6, Quixotic, Autoclave) on vocals and guitar, Kathi Wilcox (Bikini Kill, Frumpies) on guitar and backing vocals, and Steve Dore (Snoozers, Deep Lust) on drums, The Casual Dots released just one, self-titled album in 2004.
Now, 18 years later, the group is back with Sanguine Truth, due to come out on Sept. 23 on Billotte's Ixor Stix Records, produced by Guy Picciotto (Fugazi). They lead off the new record news with a new single, "The Frequency of Fear."
The new album was written and recorded over time, ranging from 2004-2019 with the members spread out in different cities. "The Frequency of Fear" was written in January 2016, for example, but still resonates sharply today.
The band's debut, originally on CD only (Kill Rock Stars) will also be reissued on vinyl on the same date.
