New York trio BRIAN! is back, set to release The Cataclysmic Engine on via Nefarious Industries.
The band's fifth album in total, the bassoon-driver avant-garde trio covers a wide range of styles, with lead single "Rose" taking a mathy meets jazzy direction with metal and prog tinges.
Formed in 2009, the lineup features classically trained bassoonist David Resig, multi-instrumentalist Bubba Crumrine (Amok & OK, solo, Mouth To Mouth To Mouth), and percussionist Willie B (Tzar, Johnny Dowd, Black Castle, Jaimie Lidell, Eszter Balint, Jayne County).
