Sleepbomb, which released The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari last year, is back with a new album in early 2025. The new record is titled The Sleeping Dead and draws inspiration from the work of George Romero. It will release on Jan. 24, 2025. That's a long time from now, but the band does have a new teaser in the form of the single, "It Was A Good Plan." Fittingly, pre-orders for the album open on Halloween, Oct. 31, 2024. The first single is subtitled "Excerpts from their score for George Romero's 1968 ‘Night of the Living Dead," which sets the tone accordingly.

The new album is based on the score of Romero's original form but, Tim Gotch notes, "During the recording process each track was pared down to the essential character of each scene from the most influential zombie film of them all. ‘Unlike The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, we knew that the final product would not be a fully synchronized score due to rights issues and the large amount of dialogue in the film."

Sleepbomb is based in San Fancisco, CA and describes the project as "a psychedelic doom project focused on full, original scores for genre films." Tour plans are in the works for the coming year as well.

The album will release via Koolarrow Records in North America and Consouling Sounds in EU/ROW.
