Hardcore continues to have its day in 2025, with Flatspot Records announcing the signing of Pig Pen, a band featuring Matty Matheson, Wade MacNeil, Daniel Romano, Ian Romano, and Tommy Major to the label.
The band will release their debut album, Mental Madness, on June 27. They already shared their first single, also called "Mental Madness," earlier this week (below).
For further background, the lineup has a stacked resume: vocalist Matty Matheson (chef, restaurateur, and actor from The Bear), guitarists Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire, Dooms Children) and Daniel Romano, drummer Ian Romano (Daniel Romano’s Outfit), and bassist Tommy Major (Daniel Romano’s Outfit, Young Guv).
The songs were compiled over time and distance, then written in one day and recorded the next, including self-recording and producing their own work--the mixed by to Arthur Rizk (Cold World, Fucked Up, Power Trip) and mastered by Alan Douches.
