In Recognition Of Your Significant Accomplishments, Tekulvi

Posted in Records on March 28, 2025

Long broken up Tekuliv, of Chicago, IL, will see their In Recognition Of Your Significant Accomplishments EP reissued on May 20 and packaged with previously unreleased material. The record initially came out in 2022 on Divot Records, blending emo with math rock and post-hardcore sounds. The new 7-track version will be an LP courtesy of Expert Work Records. (Full tracklist below.) It is the material's first time on vinyl.

The reissue was initiated following the passing of Steve Sostak (Sweep the Leg Johnny), who played saxophone on the track "Distance and Focus," which drew members Almodovar and Sharp  together.

“In 2023 Greg and I got together to hang out, reminisce, and jam for fun. When Greg and I moved to Chicago, Steve was influential to us, and we became fast friends. Steve was supportive of Tekulvi, and we were huge Sweep the Leg fans. Those jam sessions in 2023 led to the writing of several new songs,” the band band says.
