Paint It Black Preps New 7" Releases

Posted in Records on March 3, 2009

Paint it Black has announced plans to release two new 7" releases this year. The first of which will appear in June via Bridge Nine Records. The band released their last full-length, New Lexicon, last year via Jade Tree. Here is what the band had to say:

We'll be heading to Godcity studios during the third week in April to record with the legendary Kurt Ballou. As has been detailed elsewhere, we've grown tired of the LP format, and thought that we'd get back to basics with what is arguably the best way to present hardcore punk music: the 7" EP. We'll be recording somewhere between 8 and 10 new songs for two 7" EP's to be released on different record labels this year. We're proud to announce that our friends at Bridge Nine Records will release the first of these EP's in June 2009. We're really excited to be working with the folks at B9, not only because they've been big supporters of Paint It Black, but also because they have released exceptional albums with many good friends of ours during this past year. We're also really excited about our new songs. We've been hard at work since the summer hammering out the arrangements and dynamics, and we think we can safely say that we're stretching out and challenging ourselves while still remaining true to the traditions and foundations of angry protest music on which this band has always relied. On Thursday we'll be starting an 11-day tour of the East Coast with Propagandhi, and we plan on playing a new song each night, so come check it. Get stoked.
