Wax Donut Presents 8 new wave covers

Posted in Records on January 22, 2024

Wax Donut Records has announced a new 8-song tribute record: New Wave Donut, out March 1 on vinyl and digitally.

The label, formerly known as Black Donut Records, this time features the likes of Night Goat, Wipes, Bovine Nightmares, and more, covering early new wave songs originally by artists such as Ministry, Gary Numan, Siouxsie And The Banshees, and Tears For Fears.

“Anyone who knows me well will tell you that I’m a total nut for the new wave and post-punk music of the late-‘70s to mid-‘80s. So, when I was ready to organize a new tribute comp, the idea was quickly cemented in my mind. I did what I’ve done with past tribute projects; I reached out to some of my favorite active bands in the heavy-ish music sphere to see who might have time and interest. I filled all the slots for this one quickly," label head Morey Straus says in a press release.
