Get your calendars ready- Bumbershoot has just released the set times for the festival’s 50th anniversary lineup. Bumbershoot 2023, running September 2-3 at Seattle Center, shared the schedule for the 40+ bands that will be performing. The lineup includes main-stage sets from Sleater-Kinney, Jawbreaker, Descendants, AFI and Sunny Day Real Estate.
Start planning now as the stacked lineup may lead to some devastating conflicts of interest. Are you willing to leave Screaming Females early enough to catch Destroy Boys? Will you skip a meal to catch back to back performances from Shannon and The Clams, Pussy Riot and Debby Friday? While you may have to make some hard choices, Bumbershoot is doing their best to ease the burden. Check out their website for a map of the center and a list of who will be playing at each stage. You may have to break open an Excel spreadsheet if you’re really looking to get your money’s worth from your festival pass.
Be sure to check the schedule as a few of the well curated festival’s start times are unexpected. Pussy Riot takes the stage at an early 3:05pm while Temples, with their melodic dream-pop, have a late 8pm slot. The only real disappointment is the 1:25pm set from Morgan and The Organ Donors on the opening day. The famous Seattle traffic and general long weekend tomfoolery will slow down festival goers enough that most of us will probably miss what is sure to be a great set.
