Baroness returns

Baroness have announced a North American tour that takes them through Chaos in Tejas and Bonnaroo. Kicking off on May 24, it is the band's first North American tour since their bus accident seven months ago. Guitarist Pete Adams offers:

It's hard to find the words to express how excited we are to announce this tour...Seven months ago, who knew when it would be or even if we could get back on the road. But here we are, picking right back up where we left off. A heartfelt thanks to everyone's unconditional love and support for us through, let's hope, the hardest time this band will ever see. We told you we'd be back so let's do this thing!

On the tour, Allen Blickle (drums) and Matt Maggioni (bass) will be replaced by Sebastian Thomson and Nick Jost.

Relapse (2009)

Much like their previous full-length, Red Album, Baroness' follow-up, Blue Record has been hyped quite a bit by the metal community. Red Album saw Baroness go in a very interesting direction as they shifted away from the straight-up heaviness of their EPs to a more drawn out and atmospheric sound, while still holding onto their sludge roots. Regardless, Red Album … Read more
