A new documentary on Washington DC punk in the late '70s-early '80s called Punk the Capital: Building a Sound Movement comes to DVD and Blu-ray on June 8 (Naitonal Records Store Day).
Created by James June Schneider (Co-Director, Editor), Paul Bishow (Co-Director), and Sam Lavine, the doc explores the early movement and the geographical relevance of taking place in the capital city. It has played at various festivals and (listed below) will premeiere in several US and Canada theaters beginning in May, as well as virtual screenings.
Interviewees and live footage include Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Void, Rites of Spring, and more.
