SPB premiere: "Hooray" by Townies
Townies - Meet The Townies!

Today we're excited to premiere a new song by Townies, "Hooray!" from their upcoming album, Meet The Townies!

“It’s about the obvious things we do not talk about,” the band says ominously about the new track. Listen below to make your own meaning. And if that vague hook doesn't grab you, the video also has roller skating!

Townies is a fitting name for the band, based in the small southern Colorado town of Trinidad. They play opinionated punk influenced by classic West Coast bands like The Avengers and Dead Kennedys, but with some playful traits of groups like The Pixies or Dead Milkmen too. It's forceful, yet melodic enough to singalong and unpredictable enough to get the words wrong when you try.

The band will release their debut album on June 24 via Snappy Little Numbers Quality Audio Recordings.

PS, watch the site for a Townies feature soon.
