Chicago punk band Alleys & Gangways will release the new EP, Take This Outside, one week from today.
But first, we're excited to debut a video from the record, the song "Swan," which lands right in the middle of the 5-track record.
"Swan" showcases the group's ability to straddle several different styles while maintaining a driving, succinct punk sound that's rooted in the classics, albeit with some poppy sheen and surprising guitar lines.
The band explains:
Though it was never intended to be a single, the rhythmic bass accented by the drums and guitars paired with some of the best lyrics Jaret has put together made "Swan" one of the stronger songs from Take this Outside. The production really resonated with the band from the chorus that punches through to the thoughtful guitar solo that caps it off nicely.
Take This Outside is the third EP from Alleys & Gangways, and it's their first with Chris Walls on drums and RJ Gonzini on guitar, joining original members Jaret O'Neill (vocals), Nick Thomas (guitar), and Davey Grzeslo (bass). The EP was recorded with Dan Tinkler and will be self released on August 25.
