FVRMN ("Fever Moon") just released their fourth album, Back To The Whip, on Friday May. To celebrate, the band now gives us a video for "Esoteric Lover" from the just released LP.
Principal songwriter Jay Holmes describes the album as a true "pandemic album," meaning it was conceptualized and written while Holmes was sick -- a contrast to the introspective and isolated tones that permeate many of the records we're hearing today that first took shape in 2020.
The record is raw and visceral, with coarse vocals and nods to rough and tumble pop-structured punk of the late 1990s. The record also features guest appearances from Mike Watt (Minutemen, The Stooges, fIREHOSE), Chris Broach (Braid), Christian Madden (The Liam Gallagher Band), and Motoharu Fukada (ex-member of Japan's Soil & "Pimp" Sessions).
'Tis our pleasure to help introduce "Esoteric Lover," one of the album's most melodic songs, here:
