This full-length record might fit on a 7”. It’s short and fast, but still definitely a full record with 10 fully-formed tracks of stomping punk rock just over 15 minutes overall.
I’ve written about the band before and this record continues their trajectory. I remember a little more barking and aggression last time, but that isn’t to say this record lacks those features. Rather I’d define the general sound as oi! played through blown out speakers with a hardcore-style vocalist. It’s more rumbling music than upbeat circle pit stuff. Instead of gang vocals and singalongs, though, the band focuses on grimy blunt force. It’s still music for the alleyway, so to speak, but with the ferocity of hardcore instead of bouncy street punk.
The bass really drives this record, with choppy and somewhat staccato guitars and punchy drums. The shouted vocals are generally working class-themed and political in nature with lyrics about state power, police brutality, and more abuses of power. “On All Fours” sneaks in a little more melody, while “Billionaire Bunker” has a little bigger sound. “With Reason” goes a little more high strung street punk. I’d pick “Right To Your Door” and “Billionaire Bunker” are a couple of personal favorites.
