Scene Point Blank: I believe this is the first time Cloak/Dagger has played MACRoCk. What are your thoughts and expectations the event, as it is now completely cut off from the University?
Cloak/Dagger: We played Macrock the last year that they had it with Fucked Up, Cold World, and Government Warning; it was a good time. I think even that show was a lot different from the MACRoCk's they had before. I don't think that punk or core bands ever had their own show before that, they would just play in between other styles of bands. I think that even with it being cut off from the University it is going to be an awesome show considering the line up for the show we are playing. I think that with more funding they could have brought about some more diverse headlining bands but the line up for the core show looks perfect to me.
Scene Point Blank: What bands are you looking forward to seeing this year?
Cloak/Dagger: As always Double Negative, Government Warning, The Ladies, and Memorial. All of which are playing our show except for Memorial.
Scene Point Blank: What are you looking forward to besides the music this year?
Cloak/Dagger: I scored some good CD's and records from the Dischord table for $1 and ate some good cotton candy at the Banned In D. C. table last time. Really, I'm looking forward to the Richmond field trip and hanging out at the show.
Scene Point Blank: There's been a reoccurring joke that Richmond bands get snubbed at MACRoCk, although the line-up this year is full of them. How excited are you to play with all of the RVA bands, and how much of Richmond do you anticipate will relocate to Harrisonburg for the weekend?
Cloak/Dagger: I think that right now Richmond has a good amount of active touring bands that can't be ignored. It is definitely going to be a Richmond event to go to. I always love playing with every band on our show and am excited to see the best city ever represented so well at one show.
Scene Point Blank: What are the future plans for Cloak/Dagger? Any extensive touring or new releases planned?
Cloak/Dagger: The MACRoCk show will be the "Kamikazes" 7" release show for us which is a song off of our LP and an unreleased song as the b-side on Grave Mistake. At the end of April we are playing a weekend with Paint it Black up to Canada where we are touring for a few weeks. Our CD should be pressed sometime soon and available on vinyl through Grave Mistake! See you at the show.
