What are your top five albums that were released in 2009? (In order 1-5)

  1. True Widow - True Widow

  2. Madraso - Van Horne

  3. Converge - Axe to Fall

  4. Yob - The Great Cessation

  5. Califone - All My Friends Are Funeral Singers

What band did you discover in 2009 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

I'll second Ian on Captain Beyond - I really can't believe that I had never heard this record before. It sits just fine alongside all the other early 70's big-guns prog. I listened to the shit out of Billy Squier "Don't Say No". Spotty, but the good songs are so damn good. "In The Dark", bitches! I also somehow never had heard Kittens before. Holy fuck, that "Bazooka and the Hustler" record is amazing. I honestly listened to those three records more than anything in my top 10 new releases.

How will you remember 2009? (In terms of music)

I love music every year. In 2009, I loved music. We worked pretty hard on our record and released it. We played some really good shows, easily the best ones I've ever played. I recorded and mixed a few great records for other bands. I learned more about recording. I did some side projects. I looked into the face of the future and its name was Brokencyde. That was weird.

2009 was a huge year for reunions. What reunion excited you the most? What band that has not reunited would you love to see play/record most in 2010?

I don't much care about reunions. I don't have any big problem with them, but I didn't go see any reunion shows this year. Now if Kyuss did a reunion tour, now that would be some shit.

What can we look forward to from you in 2010?

I have no idea. KWC will play a lot of shows including some touring, and we'll try to write. Hopefully I'll get to record and/or mix some good records.
