Mike (Son of Man)
What are your top five albums that were released in 2010? (In order 1-5)
- Torche – Songs for Singles
- Integrity – The Blackest Curse
- Electric Wizard – Black Masses
- The Gaslight Anthem – American Slang
- O.Children – Ruins
What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
O.Children – for fans of Joy Division and Nick Cave. The singer is a black Ian Curtis. Great Stuff.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
The year when many unique individuals created a soundtrack for the end times.
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
CD’s are a dead format and I have no need for them. Unless it’s an Oasis single from 1995 that I haven’t heard the B-side of. As far as word of mouth shows are concerned they are even less necessary than CD’s. The world’s of Twitter and Facebook changed the game. There is now no excuse for not knowing about a show.
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
Another Son of Man release and hopefully some shows.
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
- Integrity/VVegas split
- New Gehenna full length
- Onlooker – Life Saver….Animator
