What are your top five albums that were released in 2010? (In order 1-5)

- Explode Into Colors: Quilts
- Jason DeRulo: Jason DeRulo
What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
I discovered the music of Jason DeRulo in 2010, listening to Top 40 radio on shitty car speakers. Dude knows how to write a brilliant pop song! What can I say, I love pop music. His work, as well as that of many of his peers, has strongly influenced my own songwriting and my taste in music.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
The year when the internet finally gained complete control of the music industry. And realized it didn't care.
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
Physical CD's? No. Records and tapes, however, are definitely having a renaissance. Here in Portland, and I assume in a lot of other places too, there are dozens of awesome local bands who are putting out short-run tapes, 7"s, and LPs on their own tiny labels, and playing lots of word-of-mouth shows in basements, living rooms, Ethiopian restaurants, and storage lockers all over town. Thanks to true music lovers, I think there will always be a place for bands who want to do the hard work of putting out music and touring, even as it becomes harder to make money doing it.
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
A continuous stream of mind-blowing creativity and stupid jokes.
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
