Top Five TV Shows of 2006
by Gil
1. The Boondocks
Anime inspired animation along with references to A Tribe Called Quest. In just one season The Boondocks has garnered a cult following. Fans of good music, animation, and social commentary take note. This show definitely surpasses the rest of the Adult Swim camp in maturity and poignancy.
2. Arrested Development
America just wasn't ready for the pure, unadulterated genius that is Arrested Development. I have more to say about this show than any of the others on my list, but I will let Arrested D speak for itself. Please do yourself a favor and check out the episode "Amigos" from Season 2.
3. The Office (USA)
It's hard to imagine a comedy show with no jokes, but that is exactly what makes The Office so good, everything is either terribly akward or terribly absurd. Steve Carell plays the worst boss in America, and the characters are constantly invading the fourth wall - sweet.
4. My Name Is Earl
The concept of this show is that the once morally bankrupt Earl Hickey makes amends for each misdeed he has done. This is the kind of show you can sit down and watch with your parents, hilarious with a good moral at the end. If you have a heart, you'll start to feel for the characters after a few episodes.
