Jeff Rosenstock's Ska Dream

Posted in Records on April 24, 2021

At this point, I'm not sure if it's really surprising when Jeff Rosenstock releases a "surprise album," as he has a few under his belt. All commentary asside, the prolific ex-Bomb The Music Industry! musician continues to delight fans with new music, which is the important detail here.

Earlier this week, Rosenstock shared Ska Dream, via Polyvinyl: a ska-tinged re-imagining of last year's No Dream album.

Rosenstock is joined by an all-star cast of musicians on the album, which started as a joke and grew into the full 13-song collection before you.

We live in different cities and don’t see each other a lot. This record was arranged through file-sharing, as SKA DREAM is the obvious 2021 analogue to The Postal Service’s Give Up. Drums were recorded by Matt Embree (Rx Bandits) in his practice space in Long Beach, CA. Mike Huguenor’s guitar was recorded at District Recorders in San Jose, CA. All other instruments were recorded in our respective homes.

The list of performers is lost (and impressive), so hit the jump see see the full thing.
