With time, the solo project has grown to a full band. So what’s the deal with this record? It’s got 8 songs, it’s about 20 minutes long.But wait, there’s more.This picks up where Underground Railroad to Candyland left off, but it also incorporates a bit of that minimalist solo vibe mentioned earlier. It’s not a solo vanity project by any means, but a way for Congelliere to release new music that doesn’t quite fit his other projects, like the long-running Toys That Kill, which has a dual vocal focus. Though both bands play their own variations of metalcore, this split release is an unlikely partnering. While With Resistance hail from New Jersey, Twenty Inch Burial call Portugal home. Despite being separated by the entire Atlantic Ocean, these two compliment each other well. Each band contributes three songs to this split from State of Mind Recordings. With Resistance kicks things off with "Yo, Larry's Wearing a Throwback," a technical feat not unlike material from acts like Remembering Never or It Dies Today. They blaze through that quickie in no time and move right on to the next track, "'No Gets It."
