What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
I got really into Edith Piaf in 2010, I saw a great movie about her a few years back and meant to grab some of her stuff and never did, then one night before tour I randomly remembered and downloaded her entire discography. I don't speak French so I don't understand any of the words, but she sings with so much emotion, it's just amazing, you can put on headphones and hit play and it takes you back to a different time, it's really great shit.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
When I think of 2010 in terms of music I think of all the late nights watching friends in other bands play out on the road, the drunken 4:00 AM conversations about Bob Dylan or Sam Cooke, and just all the good times I had. When I think of music is 2010 I think of friendship, some old, and some new.
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
I hope so, but who knows. I really miss how things were when I was a teenager honestly, flyers, mail-orders, whatever. Social networks have their purpose, but I'd much rather be worried about making music that how many followers we have on Twitter, that said, make sure you follow us on Twitter!
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
Tons of shows and new music, we're going into the studio next week!
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
I'm not sure what is coming out next year, so I'll just say that I'm looking forward to anything legit that's released in 2011.
