What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
Amanda Palmer. Consummate artist, amazing woman, simply the best. Made me want to be a better artist and be more of who I am.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
Fever Ray, Kerala Dreams, A Shamans Dream
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
More than ever. If you've never known what it's like to hold an album of a band or performer that you love in your hand, (phew am I old school), you are missing your deepest soul and connection to the heartbeat of the world. There's nothing like a live performance of someone you love. On the other hand if it's bad, then it's really sucky and it may be difficult to leave.
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
Benefit concert for my non profit Songbird Sings, in Boston. Hopefully more songs in more movies. Possibly my own CD of so many songs I've been writing lately.
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
3 good ones.
