What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
OFF! is not only one of the raddest bands I've heard this year but also one of the best bands I feel that has came out in a long time. Its really cool to see Keith Morris do something new with such great musicians.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
For me it was the year of amazing punk fests. Tankcrimes Brainsqueeze, The Fest in Gainesville, Fun Fun Fun and Best Friends Day were all such a great time this year. I was really stoked to be a part of them. It's good to see people getting together and putting such great events.
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
I think vinyl will defiantly out live c.d.'s. Vinyl has way more of a collector following (such as myself) for it to disappear anytime soon. I think Cd's will last for a bit though because not everyone in the world can afford Ipods. I do see the price of cd's dropping significantly in the near future though.
As far as shows go I have noticed that a lot more people are flyering gigs a lot more less. People just rely on the internet to promote shows. I think thats a shame because I really like looking at old fliers of gigs I've been to or have missed. I also love the artwork that gets put on fliers. There are some great ones out there.
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
New Municipal Waste and No Friends records are in the works. It's going to be a busy year for me!
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
The Dear Landlord/Dopamines split 7", Toxic Holocausts new album and the Propaghandi/Sacrifice split 7".
