What band did you discover in 2010 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
Trent Fox & the Tenets. What made them significant? Big hearts, Big sound, Big grooves, plus they’re from Milwaukee.
How will you remember 2010? (In terms of music)
It’s the first year in a decade that Big Action didn’t release a record. But I guess it will be a year that saw the passing of Jay Reatard. I will miss his simple, musical genius.
With more and more bands switching to digital methods of releasing music and communicating with audiences in 2010, do you think there's still a place for physical CDs and word-of-mouth shows in the future?
Physical Cds are an ok format, but I personally don’t prefer to purchase them. I like the digital/vinyl marriage. I actually believe the internet has helped to spread “word of mouth” shows. We can utilize the internet to enhance our music and scene. It’s a great medium for record promotion and communication.
What can we look forward to from you in 2011?
Voytek 7”, The Bombay Sweets 7”, Bird Sounds 7” and maybe a split vinyl LP with two bands. I really want to do that.
What three records are you looking forward to most in 2011?
The four records listed above! I’m sure it will not happen since they’re no longer together, but I would love to see the Marked Men put something out too.
